Mark Ibsen, Helena Montana

Mark has been mushing 7 years out of Last Chance Kennels in Helena, Montana having been mentored by Dave Armstrong and Bill Smith. He was a host to Laura Daugereau in 2003 Race to the sky. 8 dogs escaped from her truck, and they chased them all through the streets of Helena. When she scratched, they all went mushing at in Seeley, and Mark was "hooked". It has been very humbling ever since. Mark finished 7th in the Beargease in 2006, and 3rd in the Seeley 200, thanks to Bill Smith's dogs. He won the sportsmanship award in the Seeley 200 in 2003. Mark has yet to finish Race to the Sky, with multiple misadventures there. This year, his coach is Jason Barron. Mark is entered in the Iditarod.
